This rustic obi gives the impression that it is sakiori or ragweave, but in actual fact is woven from multi-colored yet subtly colored slubby yarns which yield a wonderfully overall textured effect.
The warp yarns seem to be of the same or similar color as the weft yarns. They are steel blue, brick red, sage green, white--and there are some dual-colored twisted yarns. The weft yarns are fed against the warp in such a way as to produce an irregular pattern of horizontal lines and blocks of colored texture along the length.
The nubby texture of this obi in combination with the beautiful coloration makes this a really lovely rustic obi. It is in very good condition.
