We are located in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn, New York. We can be found on Instagram and Facebook.
WHO WE ARE:
Sri is a gallery specializing in antique Japanese folk textiles and was founded by Stephen Szczepanek in 2001.
Prior to opening Sri, Stephen was the curator for a private art collection in New York City--a collection that includes over 2,000 museum quality artworks and highlights masterpieces of 20th century art design and the arts of Asia.
Stephen founded Sri in order to communicate his personal and professional interest in the history and meaning of Japanese folk traditions.
In addition to maintaining Sri, he has written on Japanese country textiles for international publications and museum catalogs. Seven exhibitions of his personal collection were shown in commercial and public institutions in Europe and the United States since 2008.
