This is a very attractive length of indigo dyed shibori cotton, the cotton being dyed in the shibori technique referred to as kanoko or fawn dappling, referring, of course, to the spotted fur of a young deer.
The pattern of small, elongate circles is regularly-spaced and simply designed. The dappling is pale blue against a very dark indigo ground.
Although of the simplest sort of shibori this is a very handsome piece--and in good, used condition.
