A Length of Large Scale Katazome Cotton: Indian Inspired Flowers and Hexagons

$70.00 USD

late nineteenth century
25" x 13 3/4", 63.5 cm x 35 cm

This length of katazome dyed cotton shows a repeat pattern of what appear to be Indian inspired fantasy flowers amid a field of broken arabesque which is studded with a hexagon shape which is drawn to make it look like it is bamboo.

The design is large-ish in scale and the repeat is regular: the design is enhanced by pale orange coloring, judiciously added to enhance the richness of the design.

This length of hand spun, hand woven cotton is in good, used condition.
