This length of katazome dyed cotton shows a curious pattern, that of large-scale chrysanthemums, half of which are seen from the back.
The invention of katazome stencil cutters was endless and enjoying their innovations in design is a never ending pleasure.
This pattern is arranged in two columns, one on either side of the length. Every other flower is seen from the back. A pale ochre-toned yellowish color is used to accent the unusual design.
The length is in good, used condition and it is great fun to look at.
