A Beautifully Pieced Zokin: Two Distinct Sides

Zokin are traditional Japanese dust rags which are almost always made from layered and sashiko stitched scraps of cloth.

This is a very handsome zokin which is sewn from beautifully arranged, pieced-together recycled cotton cloth which has been sashiko stitched. The patched, brown colored cotton front side is distinct from the reverse side which is indigo dyed cotton and which shows wonderful repairs.

An excellent example of traditional zokin.
