A Massive Piece of Indigo Dyed Shibori: Undulating Pattern
mid twentieth century
4 yards x 34 1/2", 3.65 m x 87.5 cm
This is a very large piece of contemporary shibori dyed cotton that is pictured here folded in half--the whole piece is too large to photograph intact.
It is a wide piece and the undulating pattern is composed of countless, small tie dyed bits that form a complex pattern of intersecting, wavy lines.
This is a tremendous resource for someone who is creative and would like to apply their creativity to using finely made, contemporary shibori.
The cotton cloth is commercially loomed and the dye is more than likely synthetic. There is a very faint shadow of a stain or discoloration--almost impossible to see.
A real treat.
