A Panel from a Sashiko Stitched Furoshiki: Patched Plaid

This is panel taken from a furoshiki or a traditional wrapping cloth. It is hand woven of hand spun, indigo dyed cotton fibers and the pattern shown is that of a tone-on-tone plaid.

The panel shows two sashiko stitched corners and there are two patches, one indigo dyed cotton and the other undyed. There is a faint spray of holes on the top and bottom which can be seen in the accompanying detail photos.

The indigo tone is rich and deep and the overall look of this panel is visually appealing with its radiating, white cotton sashiko stitched lines.

Wonderful to look at, this is a charming length of old sashiko stitched cotton cloth.
