An Indigo Dyed Cotton Jacket: Sashiko Stitched and Gradient Blues

This cotton jacket is shown here inside-out in order to highlight the beautiful indigo dyed cotton interior.

As is clear from the many photos here, the jacket's lining is pieced together from various indigo dyed cottons, the entirety of which is stitched together with rows of sashiko stitching about 1 1/4 inches or 3 cm apart.  As can also be seen on the accompanying photographs here there is a pair of beautiful patches symmetrically placed on the proper front of the jacket.  The sleeves are pieces of smaller cotton fragments.

The proper exterior of the coat is of a dark, woven, striped cotton, the same color and pattern as can be seen on the collar portion here. The color reads black.  The proper exterior of the coat is in good condition and if you choose to wear this coat, which is very possible, either side of the coat is presentable so you can consider it "reversible."

It is in good, used condition.

The dimensions shown above are from the shoulder to the bottom seam, and from sleeve tip to sleeve tip.

A beautiful thing to own, to admire and to wear.
