This lightweight cotton length is taken from a sampler of small and middle figured brown-colored katazome dyed designs.

This section was taken from a longer piece which would have been used by a dyer or a broker in order to take orders for a certain design that was pictured on this length.

There are five full repeats shown here, each with a blank area that would have indicated a product number that would have been used to place an order.

A beautiful length showing old patterns with some ingrained creases and slight abrasion.
