A Short Length of Katazome Dyed Cotton: Large Scale Unusual Pattern

This short fragment shows an unusual, large-scale pattern of big circles loaded with motifs which are surrounded by stylized chrysanthemums and their leaves.

Inside the big circles are fragments of traditional design motifs: arrow feather, chrysanthemum and interlocking circle are among the designs shown here.

The length shows fading from wear and its design is noteworthy for its relative rarity.
