A Length of Pieced Katazome: Peonies and Chrysanthemums

This length of indigo dyed katazome cotton is hand stitched from two pieces. The image shown on the pattern is two types of stylized chrysanthemums and a fancifully drawn peony against a field of arabesque.

The resisted area which shows the image is slightly toned by indigo; the top piece is of a different and lighter shade than the bottom piece.

The length has a slight bend due to the way its stitched and the cloth itself is of a nice, drapey weight.
