A Length of Optically Entrancing Stenciled Cotton: Blurred Images

This is a very unusual length of stencil dyed cotton: it is unusual because it depicts a pattern of a dotted background over which is a field of diamond shapes. The diamond shapes show blurred edges, both on their exterior and in the center.

The length seems to be resisted on both its sides thus making it reversible.

Judging from its length it was more than likely taken from a han juban or half under kimono, a traditional woman's garb.
