A Length of Katazome Dyed Cotton: Three Types of Chrysanthemum

This is a length of indigo dyed cotton katazome which shows three types of stylized chrysanthemum rendered in large scale and with great detail. The cotton cloth that bears this design is hand woven of hand spun cotton.

The design is luxuriously drawn, especially one of the chrysanthemums whose petals are curved and tangled, we have all seen the kind of chrysanthemum is being presented here.

The length is slightly light faded and this fading brings forth the beauty of the homespun cotton yarns.

A beautifully done length of cloth that pays due homage to the regal chrysanthemum.
