A Length of Katazome Cotton: Vertical Rows of Two Motifs

This is a length of lightweight, katazome dyed cotton that was taken from a hand stitched han juban or a half under kimono.

It shows vertical rows of two motifs, the curved wave design and the geometric paving stone pattern. The katazome technique shows some flaws such as blurred or skidded areas (shown in detail photos here).

All in all this is a handsome length of old cloth and one that can be applied to many art, craft or fashion projects.
