A Length of Faded, Soft Toned Katazome: Chrysanthemums

This is a nice-sized length of very faded old katazome dyed cotton: the cotton is hand woven from hand spun yarns which gives is a tactile beauty.

The pattern is that of stylized chrysanthemums that are drawn as white outlines, the result being a delicate, soft pattern overall.

Quite faded orange toned areas are highlights to the pattern which over time has faded from blue to the pale grey tone we see here.

This is a beautiful length of old katazome cotton that now bears a wonderful patina due to its age and a faded beauty that only time can bestow.
