A Faintly Designed Blue on White Katazome Length: One Patch

The katazome dyed pattern on this length of cotton is delicate and light: it is indigo on white which in Japanese is called jishiro.

The tight repeat pattern is that of a four-petaled flower, a design which is referred to as a "diamond flower" in Japan. The pattern is vertically oriented.

This length was undoubtedly taken from an undergarment and the central patch to the left of the length indicates this as does the vertical creasing which is faintly noticeable to the length.

An unusual pattern for its paleness this type of almost-white katazome cotton is not often seen.
