A Delicately Patterned Length of Katazome Cotton: Hand Spun Cotton

This is a beautiful length of old katazome dyed cotton. The cotton is of wonderful quality as it is hand woven from rich, hand spun yarns which give the length a soulful texture that only hand spun yarns can do.

The pattern of stippled hemp leaves and stylized chrysanthemums is delicately portrayed. The manner in which this pattern is absorbed by the hand woven yarns heightens the delicate nature of the design.

The color is a truer blue than shown here, the sad limitations of photography. The cloth itself shows a lovely indigo tone that has been softened by wear and by time.

This is an especially lovely length of old katazome dyed cotton.
