A Child's Shibori Kimono: Indigo Dyed Cotton
$95.00 USD
mid twentieth century
shoulder to hem x sleeve tip to sleeve tip: 24" x 24", 61 cm x 61 cm
This small, indigo dyed cotton kimono is made for a child.
It is decorated with shibori dyeing, a version of the mokume or woodgrain technique, this one is done in horizontally-oriented zigzags.
The small kimono is unlined and is completely hand stitched. It is in bright, good, used condition save for a bit of a stain on the proper left sleeve, front, pictured.
This is a simply delightful thing to look at and shows an accomplished shibori pattern, too.
