A Repaired Child's Kasuri Kimono: Blue on White

$65.00 USD

mid twentieth century
32 1/2" x 34", 82.5 cm x 86.5 cm

This is an indigo dyed cotton kasuri child's kimono.

Although it is still fresh-looking, it shows some wear in the form of about two subtle repairs which are detailed on the accompany product photographs. One of the repairs, on the last photo here, is especially nice for its shape and its manner of mending.

The cotton seems hand woven and the pattern is a repeat of of plaid diamonds which are set within a diamond-shaped "grid" of sorts.

The cloth is worn which is to be expected from a used garment, but more so from a child's--however the kimono is remarkably free of any noticeable or discernible stains and the white cotton is still quite bright. The indigo is a greyish tone, rather subtle.

This is a very nice child's kimono from a bygone era when children dressed in a traditional manner.
