This is a very faded child's kimono or under-kimono (juban) which is hand stitched of commercially produced cotton.
The garment is very well-used: the original printed design is quite faded and there are some small, faint stains dotting the surface of the kimono as well as a few equally small holes and snags, one of which is shown on the detail photos here.
