A Child or Baby's Unlined Cotton Kimono: Stencil Resist Dyed

This small, adorable, katazome dyed kimono was made for a baby or a child from re-purposed cloth, probably a futon cover or an adult-sized kimono.

It shows wear in that the color is slightly dulled from use and the undyed areas of the pattern might have some tinge of discoloration, but this being the case, it is hardly noticeable, if at all.

The pattern is lovely: concentric circles that are designed in halves, one half being dots, the other a kind of faux weft kasuri detail.

The small kimono has a tie affixed to the back and this type of closure was used on children's garments instead of an obi, which adults use to close their kimono.
