A Starkly Toned Katazome Length: Chrysanthemum Roundels

This is a very nicely designed length of katazome dyed cotton.
It shows a very orderly pattern of highly stylized white chrysanthemums set in roundels and against a background of arabesques.
The design is highlighted by selected rust colored areas; this rust color is the result of an iron oxide based pigment dye called bengara in Japan.
Please note one snag to the selvedge edge shown in the detail photo accompanying this post. Otherwise the length is in good, used, bright condition.
