This boldly patterned length of katazome dyed cotton shows large scale, stylized chrysanthemums amid a field of arabesque.
The length is stitched from four separate pieces and it is shown from the back in order to highlight the attractive seams and the five indigo colored cotton patches which are hand sewn to the surface.
The contrast of the seams to the base cloth in addition to the patches has great visual appeal--the strong pattern adds even more of this.
