zokin is a traditional Japanese dust rag which is hand stitched using re-purporsed cloth.  Zokin were often made in groups, so very often you will find batches of similar types coming from one home.

This zokin is stitched from about three layers of cotton.  The cloth used to make this zokin is one of narrow, woven stripes in blue and white cotton, the cloth is stitched in broad intersecting diagonals of thick white thread.

It is a good looking old traditional dust rag which certainly can be used in the home as an accessory.
