This is a fragment of hand woven, indigo dyed cotton which shows charming images of a tiger, bamboo and a bird, which are encased in a wide grid.
As can be seen, this piece of old cloth is patched; the surface, too, is worn from what must have been decades of use: notice a small hole or snag to the surface here and there.
Still, there is charm to this little piece of old egasuri or picture kasuri with its child like images and its soft, indigo color.
