Momohiki are a style of wrap-around, tight fitting work trousers that were worn in all areas of old Japan.

This is a pair should be very much considered if you have been hoping to find a good pair of momohiki for your collection.  The reason for this is that both the inside and the outside of this pair of work trousers are absolutely beautiful with a great deal of patches and mending: the question is, which is the better side to admire?

Please pay special attention to the detail photos which accompany this entry.

You will see one of the featured photos shows a "flower-shaped" mending that is three tiers deep.  Quite impressive.  But all over, on each side, there are innumerable details to admire: the good quality of old cotton, the faded indigo, the tones of blue, the layers of patching and the good stitching.

The many photographs that accompany this post are intentional, in order to fully describe the riches that can be found in the hand work on both sides of this pair of momohiki.

Very recommended.
