Indian Folk Drawing #4
mid twentieth century
6" x 5", 15.25 cm x 12.75 cm
This Indian folk drawing was acquired for its beauty and the appeal found in its obvious association to religion, ritual and tradition.
That said, any accurate information about its image and meaning is lacking and it would be irresponsible to publish information that is simply conjectured.
However, there is great visual enjoyment to be had by looking at each of the two sides of this splendid, small drawing.
Please note that this drawing was done on cellulose-based paper and by now it has become brittle and fragile: great care needs to be taken when handling it as its edges might chip due to handling and movement.
