An Unopened Bolt of Kasuri Cotton: Large Pattern
$85.00 USD
mid twentieth century
approximately 12 yards x 14", 11.37 m x 35.5 cm
This is an unopened, unused full bolt of indigo dyed cotton kasuri cloth.
A full bolt of cloth such as this one is made in order to create one, full kimono, and as the bolt is unopened the actual length of this bolt is unknown.
The pattern is large in scale and its colors are a very pale blue against a dark blue-black ground. The pattern seems to be a variant on the traditional counterweights design called fundo tsunagi in Japan.
A wonderful resource for any interior, fashion or textile art project.
