An Off-Square Zokin #2: Double Kasuri

$18.00 USD

ca. early to mid twentieth century
15 1/2" x 13 1/2", 39.25 cm x 34 cm

A zokin is a traditional Japanese dustrag which is hand stitched using repurporsed cloth.  Zokin were often made in groups, so very often you will find batches of similar types coming from one home.

This zokin is fairly large and it is stitched from two layers of hand loomed cotton.  The vertically oriented stitching is done in a sashiko or running stitch using thick white cotton thread.

A very handsome old traditional dustrag which certainly can be used in the home as an accessory.

Lovely.
