Zokin are traditional Japanese dustrags which are almost always made from layered and sashiko stitched scraps of cloth.
This is a very interesting-looking zokin is sewn from a recycled white cotton shirt which has been folded over on itself and sashiko stitched closed. Ingenious!
A charming thing.
