A Zanshi Zokin: Dustrag of Leftover Threads
$25.00 USD
ca. mid twentieth century
13" x 13 1/2", 33 cm x 34.25 cm
This zokin, or sashiko stitched dustrag, is sewn from layers of cotton cloth which are then sashiko stictched together.
What makes this zokin so interesting is that it is of a good size--larger than most. More intriguing, however, is that this zokin is hand stitched on one side using zanshi-ori or cotton cloth that is woven from leftover cotton yarns.
This traditional dustrag shows a lot of visual appeal, both in terms of color and texture.
A lovely thing.
