A Woven Striped Small Pouch: Arashi Shibori Lining

$40.00 USD

early twentieth century
11" x 5 1/4", 28 cm x 13.5 cm

This charming little pouch or bag is simple in every way.

The exterior is of a woven stripe of subtle design and color while the lining is of the wonderful tatsumaki shibori, a type of tie dye associated with the shibori "capital" or Japan, Narumi and Arimatsu. There is a long cotton cord attached to the bag.

The color tone and pattern of the striped cloth is beautiful when seen against the shibori design of the lining. There is one small but dark stain to the bag, pictured on the last detail image.

 A small and covetable confection.
