A zokin is a traditional Japanese dust cloth or cleaning rag; it is usually made from old pieces of cloth and it is usually layered and stitched for durability.
This particular cotton zokin shows an all-over sashiko stitched surface in the persimmon flower or kaki no hana pattern which is often seen in traditional sashiko.
What is nice is that this is a white-on-white zokin: white stitches embellish an undyed cotton ground.
Super lovely.
