A Weathered Daifukucho: Accounting or Ledger Book
early twentieth century
13 1/2" x 5" x 1 1/2", 34 cm x 12.75 cm x 3.75 cm
This is a very nice, old. thick daifukucho, a hand bound, hand written book which could have originally been used for inventories, for accounting, for ledgers or as a record of loans.
This one is partially filled with pages of hand writing done in sumi or charcoal-based ink, however most of the pages are blank and show a faint purple guide lines. Its two covers show hand written kanji or Chinese characters.
Each of the two covers is quite worn.
A good example of a traditional daifukucho, with its original, intact binding cord.
