A Very Sashiko Stitched Zokin: Mountain Pattern
$25.00 USD
ca. mid twentieth century
8" x 12 1/2", 20.25 x 31.5 cm
This zokin, or sashiko stitched dustrag, is sewn from layers of cotton cloth which are then sashiko stitched together.
What makes this zokin so interesting is that it is made of
late nineteenth, early twentieth century cotton which has been sashiko
stitched all over in the "mountain" pattern.
This traditional dustrag shows a lot of visual appeal, both in terms of color and texture.
