A Tall and Narrow Old Patchwork Bag: Recycled Cottons

$80.00 USD

early twentieth century
20" x 7" x 7", 51 cm x 18 cm x 18 cm

This long and tall drawstring bag is hand stitched from scraps of old cotton cloth which was a traditional way to make household bags in old Japan.

This one is constructed from about fifteen pieces of cotton that are hand stitched together; the bag shows a good deal of wear and the bottom, round panel has about six holes, still visible, and easily patched.

The bag is still very usable and can easily be transformed into a pillow or it can be used, as is, for storage or decoration.

A good looking old bag from traditional Japan, this shows nice, old cottons and good mending.

Wonderful.
