A Taisho Era Book: Schematic Drawings for Tea House Shelves
8 3/4" x 6", 22 cm x 15 cm
25 leaves or 50 pages
This slender little book shows page after page of configurations for shelving to be used in a traditional Japanese tea house.
The book is hand bound and the paper is cellulose; throughout the book there are worm holes, which can be seen in the accompanying detail photos, and, as well, the bottom, outside corner of the entire book is stained.
A lovely lesson in Japanese formal interior architecture, with a splendid display of shelving in marvelous scale and proportion to the wall.
