A Small Daifukucho: Ledger Book #2
early twentieth century
7" x 5", 18 cm x 12.75 cm
This is a very nice, old daifukucho, a hand bound, hand written book which could have originally been used for inventories, for accounting, for ledgers or for record keeping of any kind.
This daifukucho is contains a good number of pages; the back and front "covers" are each written on with hand writing done in sumi or charcoal-based ink. Its pages show a good deal of hand writing and a nice surprise are the two types of stamps shown on the pages: applied, gummed stamps and the owners seals. The daifukucho's paper stock is hand made.
A good example of a traditional daifukucho, with its original, intact cording.
