This delightful, small piece of indigo dyed cotton kasuri shows a repeat pattern of stylized sparrows within a lattice of bamboo and pine.
The repeat is based on a diamond design and the images are made from carefully woven weft yarns.
The fragment is hand woven and seems to have little wear as it is in good, used condition.
