Zokin are traditional Japanese dustrags which are almost always made from layered and sashiko stitched scraps of cloth.
This is a very handsome zokin which is sewn from recycled, shibori dyed cloth, probably silk, that has been crimped and set with a lovely texture. The grid of hand stitched sashiko is in beautiful contrast to the rich, dark tones of the base cloth.
A very good looking zokin with lovely stitching.
