A Set of Four Narrow Shibori Pieces: Selected Standard Techniques
early to mid twentieth century
each piece approximately: 44" x 7", 111.5 cm x 17.75 cm
This is a set of four narrow half-widths of indigo dyed cotton shibori showing some classic techniques including two variations on arashi.
The lengths were taken from the collar section of yukata or unlined casual kimono--the set is intended for study or for use in fashion or design projects.
Please note the piece second from left is cut on an angle while the piece to the right of it shows a faint stain across its width. Please look carefully at the detail photo where this is illustrated.
This is a nice, tight selection of well-known techniques of Arimatsu shibori.
