An Itajime Shibori Zokin: Asa No Ha

A zokin is a traditional Japanese dust rag which is usually made from several layers of cotton that have been sashiko stitched together.  Zokin, along with diapers, can be considered the last stop in the textile repurposing journey.

This one is about four layers thick and shows a front and back of large scale itajime shibori cotton, the pattern of this clamp resisted shibori is that of the hemp leaf or asa no ha.

The stitching is done in a grid pattern and the overall condition is good.
