A Sakiori Obi: Ragwoven Kimono Sash
$80.00 USD
ca. mid to late twentieth century
100" x 5", 254 cm x 12.75 cm
This is a lovely sakiori obi, or a rustic, traditional kimono sash that is woven using shredded cloth as its weft yarn.
The warp yarns seem to be reddish cotton; the weft yarns are of gold, medium pink/red and maroon colors which are measured out in evenly sized bars along the length.
The overall look of this obi is graphic due to the even spaced bars of color, and this lovely obi is in very good condition, with no visible stains or holes.
A beautiful, elegant folk textile.
