A Rustic Zokin: Woven Stripes
ca. early twentieth century
13 1/2" x 10", 24 cm x 25.5 cm
This is an lovely, hand woven, layered cotton zokin or dust cloth.
The zokin is sewn from recycled, cotton cloth; the cloth seems to have been taken from a hanten or some kind of garment.
The dustrag is sashiko stitched all over, is well-worn, faded and abraded, and is a lovely and unusual sashiko stitched boro cloth.
