A Rustic Zokin #1: Pieced and Stitched
$18.00 USD
ca. early to mid twentieth century
8 1/2" x 11 1/2", 21.5 cm x 29 cm
This zokin, or sashiko stitched dustrag, is sewn from layers of cotton cloth which are then sashiko stictched together.
What makes this zokin so interesting is that it is sewn from pieces of hand loomed cotton: the play of white, short stitches against the woven pattern of the striped cloth is just lovely and visually very interesting.
The color of the cotton is still very good; this traditional dustrag will make a wonderful home accessory.
A lovely thing.
