A Rustic, Textured Semi-Sakiori Obi: Beautiful Color Palette

This beautifully colored obi or kimono sash is woven from a combination of thick yarn and shredded cotton. The result of this is a richly textured obi that shows wonderful color both from the tones of the weft yarns and the colored warp yarns.

The obi is warped in white, yellow and green which give a striped or checkered effect to the central area of the obi. Some of the rag yarn is figured or kasuri dyed that, when woven, offer a mottled effect.

The obi is in good, used condition with very little obvious wear. 

It is a beautiful thing and a bit unusual for having both rag and yarn weft.
