Zokin are traditional Japanese dustrags which are almost always made from layered and sashiko stitched scraps of cloth.
This is a very handsome zokin which is sewn from recycled indigo dyed cotton cloth, probably about four layers in all. The sashiko stitching, which covers the entire front and back surface of the zokin, is beautifully executed and adds charm to this otherwise utilitarian cloth.
A very good looking zokin with lovely stitching.
