A Repaired Zokin: Boro Dustrag
mid twentieth century
12 1/4" x 15 3/4", 31 cm x 40 cm
Zokin are traditional Japanese dustrags which are almost always made from layered and sashiko stitched scraps of cloth.
This is a good-sized and very handsome zokin which is sewn from recycled cotton cloth which is obvious if you look carefully and notice the repairs to the cloth.
The sashiko stitching is beautifully executed. Just wonderful.
A very good looking zokin with lovely stitching.
