A Pieced and Stitched Zokin: Traditional Cleaning Rag
mid twentieth century
9 1/2" x 12 1/2" , 24 cm x 31.25 cm
Zokin are traditional Japanese dustrags which are almost always made from layered and sashiko stitched scraps of cloth.
This is a good-sized and very handsome zokin which is sewn from pieced-together recycled cotton cloth which has been beautifully sashiko stitched.
The stitching is beautifully executed. Just wonderful.
A very good looking zokin with a lovely composition and good color.
